"Spare Me" Change Donation Drive Our Most Successful, tried and true campaign. Most everyone has it. Spare change. Our Director plucks it out of her carpet when her toddler drops it. Young, old, wealthy, not-so-wealthy, - if you have a penny, you can contribute to our campaign to break ground on the sanctuary in 2009. We use clear, secure containers for the collections and provide members to pick them up regularly. Pet Stores and veterinarian offices have been very successful with this campaign. Campaign is active October 2008 through April 2009.


"Give A Dog A Bone, Give A Dog A Home" $1 Campaign" Dogbone shaped cards are sold at retail locations for $1. The customer fills out the card with their name or a pet's name and the Dogbones are then displayed in the storefront window. Campaign is active January through June 2009.


"Cat-Tails & Cocktails" We get the local nightlife establishments involved in charitable activity. The bar or restaurant offers a specific drink of their choice called a "Cat-tail," where proceeds from the drink sales benefit OTFD. This campaign comes with coasters displayed on tables and at bar areas. Campaign is active February through July 2009.


"The Hair-Ball" Hair Salon Donation Drive" Our Hair Ball Campaign is designed specifically for Hair and Beauty Salons. Posters are placed at establishments reminding people that while they are enjoying the luxury of a salon, they can "cough up" a little change for needy animals. Campaign is active January through June 2009.


ONLINE CHARITY CAMPAIGNS Giveness.com Generates incremental income for OTFD whenever a supporter shops this website for their favorite brands. http://www.giveness.com/member/onthefifthday IGive.com Much like "Giveness", IGive has online shopping for popular brands that sends proceeds to OTFD when selected as the shopper's favorite charity. BOOK SALES CAMPAIGN
We have catalogs and order forms ready to distribute for a book sales drive, using Library & Educational Services. A volunteer can get the catalog and order form, collect money with the order, and turn in forms to us. We ask that each volunteer turn it in at a specified time. Orders need to be turned in within 2 weeks. There is a 40-50% profit on all books sold. This is recommended for volunteers in school, those of you who work at a large workplace, church or just frequent heavily populated areas. We would like to do this now through March 31^st . Lots of volunteers who have a large family and know lots of people are quite successful.

After years of not knowing why my love and concern for animals ran so deeply, I was inspired in 2003 to open On The Fifth Day. As a community, as a society, as caregivers to species who cannot yell out, "Please help me," we can no longer ignore the egregious state of animal overpopulation and abuse in Middle Tennessee.

"GOING GREEN" means more than saving the environment, the ozone, and recycling. We must save the animals as well.

We will build a sanctuary where they can be mended physically and emotionally, where their quality of life can soar, and where they have the chance to find a permanent home with someone who knows how to love an animal. All of God's creatures deserve this.

Most importantly - all of them,will be loved and protected. Just as they were when they were created…
