Yappy Hour, Making Its Mark at B
McNeel's
to Benefit "On The Fifth Day"
The Second Annual Yappy Hour is
calling you two by two to enjoy door prizes, drinks, food and fun Friday, March 27th,
2009 from 5:30-8:00 at B McNeel’s in Murfreesboro, TN. The Happy Hour will benefit
On The Fifth Day (animal sanctuary)
and will further their quest to “Build The A.R.K.” (Animal Rescue Keystone), an animal sanctuary. They are striving toward an immediate
goal to raise $30,000 to purchase the land and administrative building necessary
to begin work immediately. “With the dire economic state, it is more important
now than ever that we stay positive and help all the animals that are feeling
the effects of so many jobs and homes lost as much as we are,” says Rebecca
George, Director’s Assistant for OTFD, “We can also have a fabulous time doing
it!”
The evening will include a jungle of animal print balloons filled with door
prizes from area vendors such as The Murfreesboro Symphony, Leslie’s Shoppe, The
Nashville Sounds, Penny’s closet, Massage, and many more for
$5 each. Tickets are $10 at the
door, $5 for students and OTFD members.
All proceeds will go to On The
Fifth Day. Guests may also
purchase
dinner and drinks on their own.
On The Fifth Day is
active in building on their goal to raise money for THE A.R.K. The Goal
Today is $30,000 to build fencing, the first dog-run, weather
protection for animals, animal food, medicine, cleaning supplies, office
functions and much more by July of 2009.
“The flood is here and Middle Tennessee animals are in desperate need of
our help. We can lead them to the
sanctuary if we could get just $1 from every Murfreesboro resident,” states
George, “It is not whether we can afford to help, but can we afford not to?”
Currently On The Fifth Day
is fundraising through many projects such as: “Spare Me” Change Donation Drive,
“Give a Dog a Bone, Give a Dog a Home”$1 Campaign, “Cat-Tails and Cocktails”,
and “The Hair-Ball” Salon Donation Drive.

The Flea Market on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at beautiful Cannonsburgh Village (Farmer's Market Pavilion) was a great day for OTFD Volunteers, Board Members, and shoppers. And did they shop, making close to $2,000.00 for the animals. |
Thank you so much to Nashville radio station 105.9 The Rock for stepping up to the plate and creating "Woofstock" to promote On The Fifth Day. Now, more than ever, we need funds to help the animals and to break ground on the sanctuary in 2009. "It takes a village…" to turn around the animal overpopulation problem in our community and in Tennessee. |
June, 2008: Tall Grass Dance Studio (615) 785-1339 in Murfreesboro, TN, hosted "Dancin' For the Animals!" Guests learned (um, we kinda learned; Most were quite well-versed) to Swing Dance from the infamous instructors, Joe and Connie - Fred and Ginger themselves - worked up a great sweat, and raised $300.00 for On The Fifth Day! Our thanks to the staff and the regulars! |
Mamapalooza! An event for Moms….and Everyone Else! Was a blast!
This year, the Inaugural event, was held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 with almost 30(!) very cool vendors. |
MURFREESBORO, TN - Milano's Restaurant - Yappy Hour!

CLARKSVILLE, TN - Poor Man's Country Club - Sponsored by Appleton Harley-Davidson and Budweiser.
Saturday, February 16, 2008: Artists (all incredible) who performed were -- Kimber Cleveland, Mike Robinson (sponsored by Budweiser), and Jimmy Knouse.
Owner, Rose Kitchen, was not only the life of the party but has a huge heart for animals. Ms. Kitchen rallied the troops and by night's end, $2,050 was made for On The Fifth Day,
many sanctuary t-shirts were sold, and fun was had by all!! We felt so at home and if everybody didn't know our name, they asked. We look forward to going back for a cookout!
A special heartfelt, "Thank you," to Rose, Poor Man's Country Club, our sponsors, and everyone who opened their hearts that night. We floated on clouds for several days afterwards.

PLEASE DO WHAT YOU CAN TO ENSURE THE OTFD FACILITY IS BUILT THIS SPRING! |
After years of not knowing why my love and concern for animals ran so deeply, I was inspired in 2003 to open On The Fifth Day. As a community, as a society, as caregivers to species who cannot yell out, "Please help me," we can no longer ignore the egregious state of animal overpopulation and abuse in Middle Tennessee.
"GOING GREEN" means more than saving the environment, the ozone, and recycling. We must save the animals as well.
We will build a sanctuary where they can be mended physically and emotionally, where their quality of life can soar, and where they have the chance to find a permanent home with someone who knows how to love an animal. All of God's creatures deserve this.
Most importantly - all of them, will be loved and protected. Just as they were when they were created…
On The Fifth Day.
